The Long White Seam Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDBEAFA GHIHJHKBLB MANAEAOBPB

As I came round the harbor buoyA
The lights began to gleamB
No wave the land locked water stirredC
The crags were white as creamB
And I marked my love by candle lightD
Sewing her long white seamB
It's aye sewing ashore my dearE
Watch and steer at seaA
It's reef and furl and haul the lineF
Set sail and think of theeA
-
I climbed to reach her cottage doorG
O sweetly my love singsH
Like a shaft of light her voice breaks forthI
My soul to meet it springsH
As the shining water leaped of oldJ
When stirred by angel wingsH
Aye longing to list anewK
Awake and in my dreamB
But never a song she sang like thisL
Sewing her long white seamB
-
Fair fall the lights the harbor lightsM
That brought me in to theeA
And peace drop down on that low roofN
For the sight that I did seeA
And the voice my dear that rang so clearE
All for the love of meA
For O for O with brows bent lowO
By the candle's flickering gleamB
Her wedding gown it was she wroughtP
Sewing the long white seamB
