Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBBCCBDDEDEEA WOMAN SPEAKS | A |
- | |
O sleep we are beholden to thee sleep | B |
Thou bearest angels to us in the night | C |
Saints out of heaven with palms Seen by thy light | C |
Sorrow is some old tale that goeth not deep | B |
Love is a pouting child Once I did sweep | B |
Through space with thee and lo a dazzling sight | C |
Stars They came on I felt their drawing and might | C |
And some had dark companions Once I weep | B |
When I remember that we sailed the tide | D |
And found fair isles where no isles used to bide | D |
And met there my lost love who said to me | E |
That 'twas a long mistake he had not died | D |
Sleep in the world to come how strange 'twill be | E |
Never to want never to wish for thee | E |
