Heigh ho daisies and buttercupsA
Fair yellow daffodils stately and tallB
When the wind wakes how they rock in the grassesC
And dance with the cuckoo buds slender and smallB
Here's two bonny boys and here's mother's own lassesC
Eager to gather them allB
-
Heigh ho daisies and buttercupsC
Mother shall thread them a daisy chainD
Sing them a song of the pretty hedge sparrowE
That loved her brown little ones loved them full fainD
Sing Heart thou art wide though the house be but narrowE
Sing once and sing it againF
-
Heigh ho daisies and buttercupsC
Sweet wagging cowslips they bend and they bowG
A ship sails afar over warm ocean watersC
And haply one musing doth stand at her prowG
O bonny brown sons and O sweet little daughtersC
Maybe he thinks on you nowG
-
Heigh ho daisies and buttercupsC
Fair yellow daffodils stately and tallB
A sunshiny world full of laughter and leisureH
And fresh hearts unconscious of sorrow and thrallB
Send down on their pleasure smiles passing its measureH
God that is over us allB
