Promising Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCBDBDEFEFGG

A MAN SPEAKSA
-
Once a new world the sunswart marinereB
Columbus promised and was sore withstoodC
Ungraced unhelped unheard for many a yearB
But let at last to make his promise goodC
Promised and promising I go most dearB
To better my dull heart with love's sweet feudD
My life with its most reverent hope and fearB
And my religion with fair gratitudeD
O we must part the stars for me contendE
And all the winds that blow on all the seasF
Through wonderful waste places I must wendE
And with a promise my sad soul appeaseF
Promise then promise much of far off blissG
But ah for present joy give me one kissG
