Come away the clouds are highA
Put the flashing needles byA
Many days are not to spareB
Or to waste my fairest fairB
All is ready Come to dayC
For the nightingale her layC
When she findeth that the wholeD
Of her love and all her soulD
Cannot forth of her sweet throatE
Sobs the while she draws her breathF
And the bravery of her noteE
In a few days alterethF
-
Come ere she despond and seeG
In a silent ecstasyG
Chestnuts heave for hours and hoursH
All the glory of their flowersH
To the melting blue aboveI
That broods over them like loveI
Leave the garden walls where blowJ
Apple blossoms pink and lowJ
Ordered beds of tulips fineK
Seek the blossoms made divineK
With a scent that is their soulD
These are soulless Bring the whiteL
Of thy gown to bathe in lightL
Walls for narrow hearts The wholeD
Earth is found and air and seaG
Not too wide for thee and meG
-
Not too wide and yet thy faceM
Gives the meaning of all spaceM
And thine eyes with starbeams fraughtN
Hold the measure of all thoughtN
For of them my soul besoughtN
And was shown a glimpse of thineK
A veiled vestal with divineK
Solace in sweet love's despairB
For that life is brief as fairB
Who hath most he yearneth mostN
Sure as seldom heretoforeO
Somewhere of the gracious moreO
Deepest joy the least shall boastN
Asking with new opened eyesP
The remainder that which liesP
O so fair but not all connedN
O so near and yet beyondN
-
Come and in the woodland sitN
Seem a wonted part of itN
Then while moves the delicate airB
And the glories of thy hairB
Little flickering sun rays strikeQ
Let me see what thou art likeQ
For great love enthralls me soJ
That in sooth I scarcely knowJ
Show me in a house all greenR
Save for long gold wedges' sheenR
Where the flies white sparks of fireS
Dart and hover and aspireT
And the leaves air stirred on highA
Feel such joy they needs must sighA
And the untracked grass makes sweetN
All fair flowers to touch thy feetN
And the bees about them humU
All the world is waiting ComeU
