Love's Thread Of Gold Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH AFAF

In the night she told a storyA
In the night and all night throughB
While the moon was in her gloryA
And the branches dropped with dewB
-
'Twas my life she told and round itC
Rose the years as from a deepD
In the world's great heart she found itC
Cradled like a child asleepD
-
In the night I saw her weavingE
By the misty moonbeam coldF
All the weft her shuttle cleavingE
With a sacred thread of goldF
-
Ah she wept me tears of sorrowG
Lulling tears so mystic sweetH
Then she wove my last to morrowG
And her web lay at my feetH
-
Of my life she made the storyA
I must weep so soon 'twas toldF
But your name did lend it gloryA
And your love its thread of goldF
