Feathers And Moss Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CBCB DBDB ABAB

The marten flew to the finch's nestA
Feathers and moss and a wisp of hayB
The arrow it sped to thy brown mate's breastA
Low in the broom is thy mate to dayB
-
Liest thou low love low in the broomC
Feathers and moss and a wisp of hayB
Warm the white eggs till I learn his doomC
She beateth her wings and away awayB
-
Ah my sweet singer thy days are toldD
Feathers and moss and a wisp of hayB
Thine eyes are dim and the eggs grow coldD
O mournful morrow O dark to dayB
-
The finch flew back to her cold cold nestA
Feathers and moss and a wisp of hayB
Mine is the trouble that rent her breastA
And home is silent and love is clayB
