| Of Hades flooded with entrancing sound | B |
| Music's own tears was failure Doth it read | D |
| Therefore the worse Ah no so much to dare | E |
| He fronts the regnant Darkness on its throne | F |
| So much to do impetuous even there | E |
| He pours out love's disconsolate sweet moan | F |
| He wins but few for that his deed recall | G |
| Its power is in the look which costs him all | G |
