When found the rose delight in her fair hueA
Color is nothing to this world 'tis IB
That see it Farther I have found my soulC
That trees are nothing to their fellow treesD
It is but I that love their statelinessD
And I that comforting my heart do sitE
At noon beneath their shadow I will stepF
On the ledges of this world for it is mineG
But the other world ye wot of shall go tooA
I will carry it in my bosom O my worldH
That was not built with clayI
Consider itE
This outer world we tread on as a harpJ
A gracious instrument on whose fair stringsD
We learn those airs we shall be set to playI
When mortal hours are ended Let the wingsD
Man of thy spirit move on it as windK
And draw forth melody Why shouldst thou yetL
Lie grovelling More is won than e'er was lostM
Inherit Let thy day be to thy nightN
A teller of good tidings Let thy praiseD
Go up as birds go up that when they wakeO
Shake off the dew and soarP
So take Joy homeQ
And make a place in thy great heart for herR
And give her time to grow and cherish herR
Then will she come and oft will sing to theeS
When thou art working in the furrows ayI
Or weeding in the sacred hour of dawnT
It is a comely fashion to be gladU
Joy is the grace we say to GodV
Art tiredW
There is a rest remaining Hast thou sinnedX
There is a Sacrifice Lift up thy headY
The lovely world and the over world alikeZ
Ring with a song eterne a happy redeY
THY FATHER LOVES THEES
-
IB
-
Yon moor d mackerel fleetY
Hangs thick as a swarm of beesD
Or a clustering village streetY
Foundationless built on the seasD

-
The mariners ply their craftY
Each set in his castle frailA2
His care is all for the draughtY
And he dries the rain beaten sailA2
-
IIIB
-
For rain came down in the nightY
And thunder muttered full oftY
But now the azure is brightY
And hawks are wheeling aloftY
-
IVB2
-
I take the land to my breastY
In her coat with daisies fineG
For me are the hills in their bestY
And all that's made is mineG
-

-
Sing high Though the red sun dipC2
There yet is a day for meB2
Nor youth I count for a shipC2
That long ago foundered at seaB2
-
VIB2
-
Did the lost love die and departY
Many times since we have metY
For I hold the years in my heartY
And all that was is yetY
-
VIIB2
-
I grant to the king his reignD2
Let us yield him homage dueY
But over the lands there are twainD2
O king I must rule as youY
-
VIIIB2
-
I grant to the wise his meedY
But his yoke I will not brookE2
For God taught ME to readY
He lent me the world for a bookE2
