An Ancient Chess King Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACAACAA

Haply some Rajah first in the ages goneA
Amid his languid ladies fingered theeB
While a black nightingale sun swart as heB
Sang his one wife love's passionate oraisonA
Haply thou may'st have pleased Old Prester JohnA
Among his pastures when full royallyB
He sat in tent grave shepherds at his kneeB
While lamps of balsam winked and glimmered onA
What doest thou here Thy masters are all deadC
My heart is full of ruth and yearning painA
At sight of thee O king that hast a crownA
Outlasting theirs and tell'st of greatness fledC
Through cloud hung nights of unabated rainA
And murmurs of the dark majestic townA
