Of yore a farm had Jupiter to rent	B
To advertise it Mercury was sent	B
The farmers far and near	C
Flock'd round the terms to hear	D
And calling to their aid	E
The various tricks of trade	E
One said 'twas rash a farm to hire	F
Which would so much expense require	F
Another that do what you would	G
The farm would still be far from good	G
While thus in market style its faults were told	H
One of the crowd less wise than bold	H
Would give so much on this condition	I
That Jove would yield him altogether	F
The choice and making of his weather	F
That instantly on his decision	I
His various crops should feel the power	F
Of heat or cold of sun or shower	F

Rains blows and takes the care	K
Of all the changes of the air	K
On his peculiar private plan	J
His nearest neighbours felt it not	L
And all the better was their lot	L
Their year was good by grace divine	M
The grain was rich and full the vine	M

The next year made quite different weather	F
And yet the fruit of all his labours	N
Was far inferior to his neighbours'	N
What better could he do To Heaven	I
He owns at last his want of sense	N
And so is graciously forgiven	I
Hence we conclude that Providence	N
Knows better what we need	O
