Love's Service Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHII JKJKLL MNMNOO

Your presence is a psalm of praiseA
And as its measure grandly ringsB
God's finger finds my heart and playsA
A te deum upon its stringsB
I never see you but I feelC
That I in gratitude must kneelC
-
Your head down bent the brow of snowD
Crowned with the shining braids of hairE
To me because I love you soD
Is in itself a tender prayerE
All faith all meekness and all trustF
Amen I cry because I mustF
-
Your clear eyes hold the text apartG
And shame my love of place and pelfH
With Love the Lord with all thine heartG
And love thy neighbor as thyselfH
Dear eyes and true I sorely needI
More knowledge of your gracious creedI
-
About your lips the summer liesJ
Who runs may read each subtle lureK
To draw me nearer to the skiesJ
And make me strong and keep me pureK
I loathe my worldliness and guileL
Each time your red lips on me smileL
-
The benediction of your faceM
Your lifted face doth make a roadN
For white robed peace and golden graceM
To reach my heart and take its loadN
Dear woman saint I bow the kneeO
And give God thanks for love and theeO
