Discontent Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCE FGFG HIHI JAJA KLKL MNMN BOBO PCPC

My soul spoke low to DiscontentA
Long hast thou lodged with meB
Now ere the strength of me is spentA
I would be quit of theeB
-
Thy presence means revolt unrestC
Means labor longing painD
Go leave me thou unwelcome guestC
Nor trouble me againE
-
I longed for peace for peace I criedF
You would not let her inG
No room was there for aught besideF
The turmoil and the dinG
-
I longed for rest prayed life might yieldH
Soft joy and dear delightI
You urged me to the battlefieldH
And flung me in the fightI
-
We two part company to dayJ
Now ere my strength be spentA
I open wide my doors and sayJ
Begone thou DiscontentA
-
Then something strong and sweet and fairK
Rose up and made replyL
Who gave you the desire to dareK
And do the right 'Twas IL
-
The coward soul craves pleasant thingsM
Soft joys and dear delightsN
I scourged you till you spread your wingsM
And soared to nobler heightsN
-
You know me but imperfectlyB
My surname is DivineO
God's own right hand did prison meB
Within this soul of thineO
-
Lest thou forgetting work and strifeP
By human longings prestC
Shouldst miss the grandest things of lifeP
Its battles and unrestC
