A Bit O' Shamrock Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAA BCBC DEDE FEFE GEHE IAIA

We met her on the hillside greenA
Below old Castle BlarneyA
Her name she whispered was EileenA
Her home it was KillarneyA
-
I see her yet her Irish eyesB
Blue gray as seas in summerC
And hear her welcome on this wiseB
Vouchsafed to each new comerC
-
I'll guide ye up the stairway steepD
And naught will ye be missingE
O' battlement or donjon keepD
Or blarney stone for kissingE
-
The tower that was McCarthy's prideF
The scene o' battles thrillingE
And where the Desmond kept his brideF
Me fee is but a shillingE
-
Here's for ye now a keepsake charmG
Her low tones grow caressingE
A bit o' shamrock green and warmH
To bring ye luck and blessingE
-
The keepsake charm I have it yetI
A thing of guile and blarneyA
Each green leaf dares me to forgetI
Fair Eileen o' KillarneyA
