Lament V Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEFGGHH

Just as a little olive offshoot growsA
Beneath its orchard elders' shady rowsA
No budding leaf as yet no branching limbB
Only a rod uprising virgin slimB
Then if the busy gardener weeding outC
Sharp thorns and nettles cuts the little sproutC
It fades and losing all its living hueD
Drops by the mother from whose roots it grewD
So was it with my Ursula my dearE
A little space she grew beside us hereF
Then Death came breathing pestilence and sheG
Fell stricken lifeless by her parent treeG
Persephone Persephone this flowH
Of barren tears How couldst thou will it soH
