Ylladmar Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EFFEFGHIIG JJFFKKFF

Her hair was oh so dense a blurA
Of darkness midnight envied herA
And stars grew dimmer in the skiesB
To see the glory of her eyesB
And all the summer rain of lightC
That showered from the moon at nightC
Fell o'er her features as the gloomD
Of twilight o'er a lily bloomD
-
The crimson fruitage of her lipsE
Was ripe and lush with sweeter wineF
Than burgundy or muscadineF
Or vintage that the burgher sipsE
In some old garden on the RhineF
And I to taste of it could wellG
Believe my heart a crucibleH
Of molten love and I could feelI
The drunken soul within me reelI
And rock and stagger till it fellG
-
And do you wonder that I bowedJ
Before her splendor as a cloudJ
Of storm the golden sandaled sunF
Had set his conquering foot uponF
And did she will it I could lieK
In writhing rapture down and dieK
A death so full of precious painF
I'd waken up to die againF
