I've seed young men that knowed it all | I |
And didn't like the way things went | J |
On this terrestial ball | I |
But all the same the rain some way | K |
Rained jest as hard on picnic day | K |
Er when they railly wanted it | L |
It maybe wouldn't rain a bit | L |

In this existence dry and wet | M |
Will overtake the best of men | N |
Some little skift o' clouds'll shet | M |
The sun off now and then | N |
But maybe while you're wondern' who | O |
You've fool like lent your umbrell' to | O |
And want it out'll pop the sun | P |
And you'll be glad you ain't got none | P |

It aggervates the farmers too | O |
They's too much wet er too much sun | P |
Er work er waiting round to do | O |
Before the plowin''s done | P |
And maybe like as not the wheat | M |
Jest as it's lookin' hard to beat | M |
Will ketch the storm and jest about | M |
The time the corn 's a jintin' out | M |

And back'ard crops and wind and rain | A |
And yit the corn that's wallered down | Q |
May elbow up again | N |
They ain't no sense as I kin see | F |
In mortals sich as you and me | F |
A faultin' Nature's wise intents | C |
And lockin' horns with Providence | E |
