Time 1 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCC

The ticking ticking ticking of the clockA
That vexed me so last night For though Time keepsB
Such drowsy watch I moaned he never sleepsB
But only nods above the world to mockA
Its restless occupant then rudely rockA
It as the cradle of a babe that weepsB
I seemed to see the seconds piled in heapsB
Like sand about me and at every shockA
O' the bell the piled sands were swirled awayC
As by a desert storm that swept the earthD
Stark as a granary floor whereon the grayC
And mist bedrizzled moon amidst the dearthD
Came crawling like a sickly child to layC
Its pale face next mine own and weep for dayC
