Time 1 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCC| The ticking ticking ticking of the clock | A |
| That vexed me so last night For though Time keeps | B |
| Such drowsy watch I moaned he never sleeps | B |
| But only nods above the world to mock | A |
| Its restless occupant then rudely rock | A |
| It as the cradle of a babe that weeps | B |
| I seemed to see the seconds piled in heaps | B |
| Like sand about me and at every shock | A |
| O' the bell the piled sands were swirled away | C |
| As by a desert storm that swept the earth | D |
| Stark as a granary floor whereon the gray | C |
| And mist bedrizzled moon amidst the dearth | D |
| Came crawling like a sickly child to lay | C |
| Its pale face next mine own and weep for day | C |
