The Same Old Story Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGHIHJKLKLMNM OPQRSTOTRQUR

The same old story told againA
The maiden droops her headB
The ripening glow of her crimson cheekC
Is answering in her steadB
The pleading tone of a trembling voiceD
Is telling her the wayE
He loved her when his heart was youngF
In Youth's sunshiny dayE
The trembling tongue the longing toneG
Imploringly ask whyH
They can not be as happy nowI
As in the days gone byH
And two more hearts tumultuousJ
With overflowing joyK
Are dancing to the musicL
Which that dear provoking boyK
Is twanging on his bowstringL
As fluttering his wingsM
He sends his love charged arrowsN
While merrily be singsM
'Ho ho my dainty maidenO
It surely can not beP
You are thinking you are masterQ
Of your heart when it is me 'R
And another gleaming arrowS
Does the little god's behestT
And the dainty little maidenO
Falls upon her lover's breastT
'The same old story told again 'R
And listened o'er and o'erQ
Will still be new and pleasing tooU
Till 'Time shall be no more 'R
