The Rapture Of The Year Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCE FGFFG HIHIJEKE FGFFG

While skies glint bright with bluest lightA
Through clouds that race o'er fields and townB
And leaves go dancing left and rightA
And orchard apples tumble downB
While school girls sweet in lane or streetC
Lean 'gainst the wind and feel and hearD
Its glad heart like a lover's beatC
So reigns the rapture of the yearE
-
The ho and hey and whop hoorayF
Though winter clouds be loomingG
Remember a November dayF
Is merrier than mildest MayF
With all her blossoms bloomingG
-
While birds in scattered flight are blownH
Aloft and lost in dusky mistI
And truant boys scud home aloneH
'Neath skies of gold and amethystI
While twilight falls and Echo callsJ
Across the haunted atmosphereE
With low sweet laughs at intervalsK
So reigns the rapture of the yearE
-
The ho and hey and whop hoorayF
Though winter clouds be loomingG
Remember a November dayF
Is merrier than mildest MayF
With all her blossoms bloomingG
