'Twas a Funny Little Fellow	A
Of the very purest type	B
For he had a heart as mellow	A
As an apple over ripe	B
And the brightest little twinkle	C
When a funny thing occurred	D
And the lightest little tinkle	C
Of a laugh you ever heard	D

His smile was like the glitter	E
Of the sun in tropic lands	F
And his talk a sweeter twitter	E
Than the swallow understands	F
Hear him sing and tell a story	G
Snap a joke ignite a pun	H
'Twas a capture rapture glory	G
An explosion all in one	H
	-
Though he hadn't any money	G
That condiment which tends	I
To make a fellow 'honey'	G
For the palate of his friends	I
Sweet simples he compounded	J
Sovereign antidotes for sin	G
Or taint a faith unbounded	K
That his friends were genuine	G
	-
He wasn't honored maybe	G
For his songs of praise were slim	L
Yet I never knew a baby	G
That wouldn't crow for him	L
I never knew a mother	E
But urged a kindly claim	M
Upon him as a brother	E
At the mention of his name	M
	-
The sick have ceased their sighing	N
And have even found the grace	O
Of a smile when they were dying	N
As they looked upon his face	O
And I've seen his eyes of laughter	E
Melt in tears that only ran	G
As though swift dancing after	E
Came the Funny Little Man	G
	-
He laughed away the sorrow	A
And he laughed away the gloom	P
We are all so prone to borrow	A
From the darkness of the tomb	P
And he laughed across the ocean	G
Of a happy life and passed	Q
With a laugh of glad emotion	G
Into Paradise at last	Q
	-
And I think the Angels knew him	L
And had gathered to await	R
His coming and run to him	L
Through the widely opened Gate	R
With their faces gleaming sunny	G
For his laughter loving sake	S
And thinking 'What a funny	G
Little Angel he will make '	-
