In the woods to shoot a Bear So he went outB
'Way in the grea' big woods he did An' heC
Wuz goin'along an'goin'along you knowD
An' purty soon he heerd somepin' go WoohE
Ist thataway Woo ooh An' he wuz skeeredB
He wuz An' so he runned an' clumbed a treeC
A grea' big tree he did a sicka more treeC
An' nen he heerd it agin an' he looked roundB
An' 't'uz a Bear a grea' big shore nuff BearF
No 't'uz two Bears it wuz two grea' big BearsG
One of 'em wuz ist one's a grea' big BearF
But they ist boff went Wooh An' here they comeH
To climb the tree an' git the Little BoyI
An'eat him upJ

An' nen the Little BoyI
He 'uz skeered worse'n ever An' here comeH
The grea' big Bear a climbin' th' tree to gitB
The Little Boy an' eat him up Oh noD
It 'uzn't the Big Bear 'at clumb the treeC
It 'uz the Little Bear So here he comeH
Climbin' the tree an' climbin' the tree Nen whenK
He git wite clos't to the Little Boy w'y nenK
The Little Boy he ist pulled up his gunK
An' shot the Bear he did an' killed him deadB
An' nen the Bear he falled clean on down outB
The tree away clean to the ground he didB
Spling splung he falled plum down an' killed him tooB
An' lit wite side o' where the' Big Bear's atB

An' nen the Big Bear's awful mad you betB
'Cause 'cause the Little Boy he shot his gunK
An' killed the Little Bear 'Cause the Big BearF
He he 'uz the Little Bear's Papa An' so hereL
He come to climb the big old tree an' gitB
The Little Boy an' eat him up An' whenK
The Little Boy he saw the grea' big BearF
A comin' he 'uz badder skeered he wuzG
Than any time An' so he think he'll climbM
Up higher 'way up higher in the treeC
Than the old Bear kin climb you know But heC
He can't climb higher 'an old Bears kin climbM
'Cause Bears kin climb up higher in the treesG
Than any little Boys In all the Wo r r ldB

An' so here come the grea' big Bear he didB
A climbin' up an' up the tree to gitB
The Little Boy an' eat him up An' soG
The Little Boy he clumbed on higher an' higherN
An' higher up the tree an' higher an' higherN
An' higher'n iss here house is An' here comeH
Th' old Bear clos'ter to him all the timeM
An' nen first thing you know when th' old Big BearF
Wuz wite clos't to him nen the Little BoyI
Ist jabbed his gun wite in the old Bear's moufA
An' shot an' killed him dead No I fergotB
He didn't shoot the grea' big Bear at allO
'Cause they 'uz no load in the gun you knowG
'Cause when he shot the Little Bear w'y nenG
No load 'uz anymore nen in the gunG

But th' Little Boy clumbed higher up he didB
He clumbed lots higher an' on up higher an' higherN
An' higher tel he ist can't climb no higherN
'Cause nen the limbs 'uz all so little 'wayE
Up in the teeny weeny tip top ofA
The tree they'd break down wiv him ef he don'tB
Be keerful So he stop an' think An' nenG
He look around An' here come th' old BearF
An' so the Little Boy make up his mindB
He's got to ist git out o' there some wayE
'Cause here come the old Bear so clos't his bref'sG
Purt 'nigh so's he kin feel how hot it isG
Aginst his bare feet ist like old Ring's brefA
When he's ben out a huntin' an's all tiredB
So when th' old Bear's so clos't the Little BoyI
Ist gives a grea' big jump fer 'nother treeC
No no he don't do that I tell you whatB
The Little Boy does W'y nen w'y he Oh yesG
The Little Boy he finds a hole up thereF
'At's in the tree an' climbs in there an' hidesG
An' nen the old Bear can't find the Little BoyI
Ut tall But purty soon th' old Bear findsG
The Little Boy's gun 'at's up there 'cause the gunG
It's too tall to tooked wiv him in the holeP
So when the old Bear find' the gun he knowsG
The Little Boy ist hid 'round somers thereF
An' th' old Bear 'gins to snuff an' sniff aroundB
An' sniff an' snuff around so's he kin findB
Out where the Little Boy's hid at An' nen nenG
Oh yes W'y purty soon the old Bear climbsG
'Way out on a big limb a grea' long limbQ
An' nen the Little Boy climbs out the holeP
An' takes his ax an' chops the limb off NenG
The old Bear falls k splunge clean to the groundB
An' bust an' kill hisse'f plum dead he didB

An' nen the Little Boy he git his gunG
An' 'menced a climbin' down the tree aginG
No no he didn't git his gun 'cause whenG
The Bear falled nen the gun falled too An' brokedB
It all to pieces too An' nicest gunG
His Pa ist buyed it An' the Little BoyI
Ist cried he did an' went on climbin' downG
The tree an' climbin' down an' climbin' downG
An' sir when he 'uz purt' nigh down w'y nenG
The old Bear he jumped up agin an heC
Ain't dead ut tall ist 'tendin' thatawayE
So he kin git the Little Boy an' eatB
Him up But the Little Boy he 'uz too smartB
To climb clean down the tree An' the old BearF
He can't climb up the tree no more 'cause whenG
He fell he broke one of his He broke allO
His legs an' nen he couldn't climb But heC
Ist won't go 'way an' let the Little BoyI
Come down out of the tree An' the old BearF
Ist growls 'round there he does ist growls an' goesG
Wooh woo ooh all the time An' Little BoyI
He haf to stay up in the tree all nightB
An' 'thout no supper neever Only theyE
Wuz apples on the tree An' Little BoyI
Et apples ist all night an' cried an' criedB
Nen when 'tuz morning th' old Bear went WoohE
Agin an' try to climb up in the treeC
An' git the Little Boy But he can'tB
Climb t'save his soul he can't An' oh he's madB
He ist tear up the ground an' go Woo oohB
An' Oh yes purty soon when morning's comeH
All light so's you kin see you know w'y nenG
The old Bear finds the Little Boy's gun you knowG
'At's on the ground An' it ain't broke ut tallO
I ist said that An' so the old Bear thinkR
He'll take the gun an' shoot the Little BoyI
But Bears they don't know much 'bout shootin' gunsG
So when he go to shoot the Little BoyI
The old Bear got the other end the gunG
Agin his shoulder 'stid o' th'other endB
So when he try to shoot the Little BoyI
It shot the Bear it did an' killed him deadB
An' nen the Little Boy dumb down the treeC
An' chopped his old wooly head off Yes an' killedB
The other Bear agin he did an' killedB
All boff the bears he did an' tuk 'em homeS
An' cooked 'em too an' et 'emH
