Suspense Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBCDEDEDD

A woman's figure on a ground of nightA
Inlaid with sallow stars that dimly stareB
Down in the lonesome eyes uplifted thereB
As in vague hope some alien lance of lightA
Might pierce their woe The tears that blind her sightA
The salt and bitter blood of her despairB
Her hands toss back through torrents of her hairB
And grip toward God with anguish infiniteC
And O the carven mouth with all its greatD
Intensity of longing frozen fastE
In such a smile as well may designateD
The slowly murdered heart that to the lastE
Conceals each newer wound and back at FateD
Throbs Love's eternal lie Lo I can waitD
