Robert Burns Wilson Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDE

What intuition named thee Through what thrillA
Of the awed soul came the command divineB
Into the mother heart foretelling thineB
Should palpitate with his whose raptures willA
Sing on while daisies bloom and lavrocks trillA
Their undulating ways up through the fineB
Fair mists of heavenly reaches Thy pure lineB
Falls as the dew of anthems quiring stillA
The sweeter since the Scottish singer raisedC
His voice therein and quit of every stressD
Of earthly ache and longing and despairE
Knew certainly each simple thing he praisedC
Was no less worthy for its lowlinessD
Than any joy of all the glory ThereE
