Reach Your Hand To Me Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDBB BEBEFFGG HBHBFFAA

Reach your hand to me my friendA
With its heartiest caressB
Sometime there will come an endA
To its present faithfulnessB
Sometime I may ask in vainC
For the touch of it againD
When between us land or seaB
Holds it ever back from meB
-
Sometime I may need it soB
Groping somewhere in the nightE
It will seem to me as thoughB
Just a touch however lightE
Would make all the darkness dayF
And along some sunny wayF
Lead me through an April showerG
Of my tears to this fair hourG
-
O the present is too sweetH
To go on forever thusB
Round the corner of the streetH
Who can say what waits for usB
Meeting greeting night and dayF
Faring each the self same wayF
Still somewhere the path must endA
Reach your hand to me my friendA
