Out Of The Hitherwhere Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD AEFFGGHI AAJJKKEA

Out of the hitherwhere into the YonA
The land that the Lord's love rests uponA
Where one may rely on the friends he meetsB
And the smiles that greet him along the streetsB
Where the mother that left you years agoC
Will lift the hands that were folded soC
And put them about you with all the loveD
And tenderness you are dreaming ofD
-
Out of the hitherwhere into the YonA
Where all of the friends of your youth have goneE
Where the old schoolmate that laughed with youF
Will laugh again as he used to doF
Running to meet you with such a faceG
As lights like a moon the wondrous placeG
Where God is living and glad to liveH
Since He is the Master and may forgiveI
-
Out of the hitherwhere into the YonA
Stay the hopes we are leaning onA
You Divine with Your merciful eyesJ
Looking down from the far away skiesJ
Smile upon us and reach and takeK
Our worn souls Home for the old home's sakeK
And so Amen for our all seems goneE
Out of the hitherwhere into the YonA
