Our Boyhood Haunts Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEFEFGG ABAHHBBIJBIKLK

Ho I'm going back to whereA
We were youngsters Meet me thereA
Dear old barefoot chum and weB
Will be as we used to beB
Lawless rangers up and downC
The old creek beyond the townC
Little sunburnt gods at playD
Just as in that far awayD
Water nymphs all unafraidE
Shall smile at us from the brinkF
Of the old millrace and wadeE
Tow'rd us as we kneeling drinkF
At the spring our boyhood knewG
Pure and clear as morning dewG
-
And as we are rising thereA
Doubly dow'rd to hear and seeB
We shall thus be made awareA
Of an eerie piping heardH
High above the happy birdH
In the hazel And then weB
Just across the creek shall seeB
Hah the goaty rascal PanI
Hoof it o'er the sloping greenJ
Mad with his own melodyB
Aye and bless the beasty manI
Stamping from the grassy soilK
Bruised scents of fleur de lisL
Boneset mint and pennyroyalK
