Last Night-- And This Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DDEE FFGG HGGI

Last night how deep the darkness wasA
And well I knew its depths becauseB
I waded it from shore to shoreC
Thinking to reach the light no moreC
-
She would not even touch my handD
The winds rose and the cedars fannedD
The moon out and the stars fled backE
In heaven and hid and all was blackE
-
But ah To night a summons cameF
Signed with a tear drop for a nameF
For as I wondering kissed it loG
A line beneath it told me soG
-
And now the moon hangs over meH
A disk of dazzling brilliancyG
And every star tip stabs my sightsG
With splintered glitterings of lightI
