Judith Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHHHII IIHHHH

O her eyes are amber fineA
Dark and deep as wells of wineA
While her smile is like the noonB
Splendor of a day of JuneB
If she sorrow lo her faceC
It is like a flowery spaceC
In bright meadows overlaidD
With light clouds and lulled with shadeD
If she laugh it is the trillE
Of the wayward whippoorwillE
Over upland pastures heardF
Echoed by the mocking birdF
In dim thickets dense with bloomG
And blurred cloyings of perfumeG
If she sigh a zephyr swellsH
Over odorous asphodelsH
And wan lilies in lush plotsH
Of moon drown'd forget me notsH
Then the soft touch of her handI
Takes all breath to understandI
What to liken it theretoI
Never roseleaf rinsed with dewI
Might slip soother suave than slipsH
Her slow palm the while her lipsH
Swoon through mine with kiss on kissH
Sweet as heated honey isH
