Indiana Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABCADECDEF

Our Land our Home the common home indeedA
Of soil born children and adopted onesB
The stately daughters and the stalwart sonsB
Of Industry All greeting and godspeedA
O home to proudly live for and if needA
Be proudly die for with the roar of gunsB
Blent with our latest prayer So died men onceC
Lo Peace As we look on the land They freedA
Its harvests all in ocean over flowD
Poured round autumnal coasts in billowy goldE
Its corn and wine and balmed fruits and flow'rsC
We know the exaltation that they knowD
Who now steadfast inheritors beholdE
The Land Elysian marvelling 'This is ours 'F
