Dusk Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCD

The frightened herds of clouds across the skyA
Trample the sunshine down and chase the dayB
Into the dusky forest lands of grayB
And sombre twilight Far and faint and highA
The wild goose trails his harrow with a cryA
Sad as the wail of some poor castawayB
Who sees a vessel drifting far astrayB
Of his last hope and lays him down to dieA
The children riotous from school grow boldC
And quarrel with the wind whose angry gustD
Plucks off the summer hat and flaps the foldC
Of many a crimson cloak and twirls the dustD
In spiral shapes grotesque and dims the goldC
Of gleaming tresses with the blur of rustD
