Dead In Sight Of Fame Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEDDEFF GHGGHII JKLLKMM

DIED Early morning of September andA
in the gleaming dawn of 'name and fame 'B
Hamilton J DunbarC
-
Dead Dead DeadD
We thought him ours aloneE
And were so proud to see him treadD
The rounds of fame and lift his headD
Where sunlight ever shoneE
But now our aching eyes are dimF
And look through tears in vain for himF
-
Name Name NameG
It was his diademH
Nor ever tarnish taint of shameG
Could dim its luster like a flameG
Reflected in a gemH
He wears it blazing on his browI
Within the courts of Heaven nowI
-
Tears Tears TearsJ
Like dews upon the leafK
That bursts at last from out the yearsL
The blossom of a trust appearsL
That blooms above the griefK
And mother brother wife and childM
Will see it and be reconciledM
