Bryant Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCD

The harp has fallen from the master's handA
Mute is the music voiceless are the stringsB
Save such faint discord as the wild wind flingsB
In sad aeolian murmurs through the landA
The tide of melody whose billows grandA
Flowed o'er the world in clearest utteringsB
Now in receding current sobs and singsB
That song we never wholly understandA
O eyes where glorious prophecies belongC
And gracious reverence to humbly bowD
And kingly spirit proud and pure and strongC
O pallid minstrel with the laureled browD
And lips so long attuned to sacred songC
How sweet must be the Heavenly anthem nowD
