The artist Kin Hubbard 's so keerlessD
He draws Abe 'most eyeless and earlessD
But he's never yet pictured him cheerlessD
Er with fun 'at he tries to concealE
Whuther on to the fence er clean overA
A rootin' up ragweed er cloverA
Skeert stiff at some Rambler er RoverA
Er newfangled automobeelE
-
It's a purty steep climate old Brown's inC
And the rains there his ducks nearly drowns inC
The old man hisse'f wades his rounds inC
As ca'm and serene mighty nighF
As the old handsaw hawg er the mottledG
Milch cow er the old rooster wattledG
Like the mumps had him 'most so well throttledG
That it was a pleasure to dieF
-
But best of 'em all's the fool breaks 'atF
Abe don't see at all and yit makes 'atF
Both me and you lays back and shakes atF
His comic miraculous cracksD
Which makes him clean back of the powerA
Of genius itse'f in its flowerA
