A Variation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DDDD DDDDEE FGFGBB HIHJDD KJKJDD DLDLMM

I am tired of thisA
Nothing else but lovingB
Nothing else but kiss and kissA
Coo and turtle dovingB
Can't you change the order someC
Hate me just a little comeC
-
Lay aside your 'dears '-
'Darlings ' 'kings ' and 'princes '-
Call me knave and dry your tearsD
Nothing in me wincesD
Call me something low and baseD
Something that will suit the caseD
-
Wish I had your eyesD
And their drooping lashesD
I would dry their teary liesD
Up with lightning flashesD
Make your sobbing lips unsheatheE
All the glitter of your teethE
-
Can't you lift one wordF
With some pang of laughterG
Louder than the drowsy birdF
Crooning 'neath the rafterG
Just one bitter word to shriekB
Madly at me as I speakB
-
How I hate the fairH
Beauty of your foreheadI
How I hate your fragrant hairH
How I hate the torridJ
Touches of your splendid lipsD
And the kiss that drips and dripsD
-
Ah you pale at lastK
And your face is liftedJ
Like a white sail to the blastK
And your hands are shiftedJ
Into fists and towering thusD
You are simply gloriousD
-
Now before me loomsD
Something more than humanL
Something more than beauty bloomsD
In the wrath of WomanL
Something to bow down beforeM
Reverently and adoreM
