Down at Wess's store was meB
And Mart Strimples Tunk and WhiteA
And Doc Bills and two er threeB
Fellers o' the Mudsock tribeC
No use tryin' to describeC
And says Doc he says says heB
'Talkin' 'bout good things to eatD
Ripe mushmillon's hard to beat 'E

I chawed on And Mart he 'lowedD
Wortermillon beat the mushF
'Red ' he says 'and juicy HushF
I'll jes' leave it to the crowd '-
Then a Mudsock chap says heB
'Punkin's good enough fer meB
Punkin pies I mean ' he saysG
Them beats millons What say WessH

I chawed on And Wess says 'WellI
You jes' fetch that wife of mineJ
All yer wortermillon rineJ
And she'll bile it down a spellI
In with sorghum I supposeK
And what else Lord only knowsK
But I'm here to tell all handsL

Then I speaks up slow and dryN
Jes' tobacker ' I says IN
