They's a kind o' feel in the air to meA
When the Chris'mas times sets inB
That's about as much of a mysteryA
As ever I've run ag'inB
Fer instunce now whilse I gain in weightC
And gineral health I swearD
They's a goneness somers I can't quite stateC
A kind o' feel in the airD
-
They's a feel in the Chris'mas air goes rightE
To the spot where a man lives atF
It gives a feller a' appetiteE
They ain't no doubt about thatF
And yit they's somepin ' I don't know whatG
That follers me here and thereD
And ha'nts and worries and spares me notH
A kind o' feel in the airD
-
They's a feel as I say in the air that's jestI
As blame don sad as sweetJ
In the same ra sho as I feel the bestI
And am spryest on my feetJ
They's allus a kind o' sort of a' acheK
That I can't lo cate no whereD
But it comes with Chris'mas and no mistakeK
A kind o' feel in the airD
-
Is it the racket the childern raiseL
W'y no God bless 'em noM
Is it the eyes and the cheeks ablazeL
Like my own wuz long agoM
Is it the bleat o' the whistle and beatJ
O' the little toy drum and blareD
O' the horn No no it is jest the sweetJ
The sad sweet feel in the airD
