To Horace Bumstead Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBBBB CBDCBD

Have you been sore discouraged in the fightA
And even sometimes weighted by the thoughtB
That those with whom and those for whom you foughtB
Lagged far behind or dared but faintly smiteB
And that the opposing forces in their mightB
Of blind inertia rendered as for naughtB
All that throughout the long years had been wroughtB
And powerless each blow for Truth and RightB
-
If so take new and greater courage thenC
And think no more withouten help you standB
For sure as God on His eternal throneD
Sits mindful of the sinful deeds of menC
The awful Sword of Justice in His handB
You shall not no you shall not fight aloneD
