Mother Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECDE

Eternities before the first born dayA
Or ere the first sun fledged his wings of flameB
Calm Night the everlasting and the sameB
A brooding mother over chaos layA
And whirling suns shall blaze and then decayA
Shall run their fiery courses and then claimB
The haven of the darkness whence they cameB
Back to Nirvanic peace shall grope their wayA
-
So when my feeble sun of life burns outC
And sounded is the hour for my long sleepD
I shall full weary of the feverish lightE
Welcome the darkness without fear or doubtC
And heavy lidded I shall softly creepD
Into the quiet bosom of the NightE
