The Cherry Tree Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDB EFEFGF HIHIJI

Come from your bed my drowsy gentlemanA
And you fair lady rise and braid your hairB
And let the children wash if wash they canC
If not assist you them and make them fairB
As is the morning and the morning skyD
And every tree and bush and bird in airB
-
The sun climbed on the heights three hours agoE
He laughed above the hills and they were gladF
With bubbled pearl he made the rivers flowE
And laced their mists in silver and he cladF
The meads in fragrant pomp of green and goldG
And bade the world forget it had been sadF
-
So lift yourself good sir and you sweet dameH
Unlash your evening eyes of pious greyI
Call on the children by each loved nameH
And set them on the grass and let them playI
And play with them a while and sing with themJ
Beneath the cherry bush a roundelayI
