I didn't listen to himC
For he didn't sing to meB
That the dew was on the lawnA
And the wind was on the leaB
I was singing at the timeD
Just as prettily as heB

I was singing all the timeD
Just a prettily as heB
About the dew upon the lawnA

So I didn't listen to himC
As he sang upon a treeB

Gina Marie: How strange; I had never heard of this poem until I figured out a puzzle. The first few lines seemed sad to me, but as I read further into it, the poem became more relatable to me as I am a singer! Even if the author, James Stephen's, wasn't exactly talking about singing, I could still see myself as someone who didn't hear another person's "song" because I was busy doing my thing. OMG, I hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings!
