Wanderers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJEKE LMNMOEPE QRFRFESE

As I rode in the early dawnA
While stars were fading whiteB
I saw upon a grassy slopeC
A camp fire burning brightB
With tent behind and blaze beforeD
Three loggers in a rowE
Sang all together joyouslyF
Pull up the stakes and goE
-
As I rode on by Eagle HawkG
The wide blue deep of airH
The wind through the glittering leavesI
The flowers so sweet and fairH
The thunder of the rude salt wavesJ
The creek's soft overflowE
All joined in chorus to the wordsK
Pull up the stakes and goE
-
Now by the tent on forest skirtL
By odour of the earthM
By sight and scent of morning smokeN
By evening camp fire's mirthM
By deep sea call and foaming greenO
By new stars' gleam and glowE
By summer trails in antique landsP
Pull up the stakes and goE
-
The world is wide and we are youngQ
And sounding marches beatR
And passion pipes her sweetest callF
In lane and field and streetR
So rouse the chorus brothers allF
We'll something have to showE
When Death comes round and strikes our tentS
Pull up the stakes and goE
