An Epitaph Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD

Like thee I once have stemm'd the sea of lifeA
Like thee have languish'd after empty joysB
Like thee have labour'd in the stormy strifeA
Been grieved for trifles and amused with toysB
-
Forget my frailties thou art also frailC
Forgive my lapses for thyself may'st fallD
Nor read unmoved my artless tender taleC
I was a friend O man to thee to allD
