In Umbria Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEEFGHIJK EOnce upon a time I was sitting outside the cafe | A |
watching twilight in Umbria when a girl came | B |
out of the bakery with the bread her mother wanted | C |
She did not know what to do Already bewildered | D |
by being thirteen and just that summer a woman | E |
she now had to walk past the American | E |
But she did fine Went by and around the corner | F |
with style not noticing me Almost perfect | G |
At the last instant could not resist darting a look | H |
down at her new breasts Often I go back | I |
to that dip of her head when people talk | J |
about this one or that one of the great beauties | K |
