Failing And Flying Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Everyone forgets that Icarus also flewA
It's the same when love comes to an endB
or the marriage fails and people sayC
they knew it was a mistake that everybodyD
said it would never work That she wasE
old enough to know better But anythingF
worth doing is worth doing badlyD
Like being there by that summer oceanG
on the other side of the island whileH
love was fading out of her the starsI
burning so extravagantly those nights thatJ
anyone could tell you they would never lastK
Every morning she was asleep in my bedL
like a visitation the gentleness in herM
like antelope standing in the dawn mistN
Each afternoon I watched her coming backO
through the hot stony field after swimmingF
the sea light behind her and the huge skyP
on the other side of that Listened to herM
while we ate lunch How can they sayC
the marriage failed Like the people whoA
came back from Provence when it was ProvenceQ
and said it was pretty but the food was greasyD
I believe Icarus was not failing as he fellR
but just coming to the end of his triumphS
