Spring, 1916 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCABD EFGEHG EIJEKJ

Slow rigid is this masqueradeA
That passes as through a difficult airB
Heavily heavily passesC
What has she fed on Who her table laidA
Through the three seasons What forbidden fareB
Ruined her as a mortal lass isD
-
I played with her two years agoE
Who might be now her own sister in stoneF
So altered from her May mienG
When round the pink a necklace of warm snowE
Laughed to her throat where my mouth's touch had goneH
How is this ruined QueenG
-
Who lured her vivid beauty soE
'l'o be that strained chill thing that movesI
So ghastly midst her young broodJ
Of pregnant shoots that she for men did growE
Where are the strong men who made these their lovesK
Spring God pity your moodJ
