Rhyme Scheme: ABC BDE FGH IJKLMCMSombre the night is | A |
And though we have our lives we know | B |
What sinister threat lies there | C |
- | |
Dragging these anguished limbs we only know | B |
This poison blasted track opens on our camp | D |
On a little safe sleep | E |
- | |
But hark joy joy strange joy | F |
Lo heights of night ringing with unseen larks | G |
Music showering our upturned list ning faces | H |
- | |
Death could drop from the dark | I |
As easily as song | J |
But song only dropped | K |
Like a blind man s dreams on the sand | L |
By dangerous tides | M |
Like a girl s dark hair for she dreams no ruin lies there | C |
Or her kisses where a serpent hides | M |
