The Lonesome Wave Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDDEFDG HIJKLMNOD

There is an islandA
In the middle of my heartB
And all day comes lapping on the shoreC
A long silver waveD
It is the lonesome waveD
I cannot see the other side of itE
It will never go awayF
Until it meets the glad gold waveD
Of happinessG
-
Wandering over the monstrous rocksH
Looking into the cavesI
I see my island dark all coldJ
Until the gold wave sweeps inK
From a sea deep blueL
And flings itself on the beachM
Oh it is joy thenN
No more whispers like sorrowO
No more silvery lonesome lapping of the long waveD
