The Loser Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCBCBDEDEFEGEHIHI

He lost his money first of allA
And losing that is half the storyB
And later on he tried a fallA
With fate in things less transitoryB
He lost his heart and found it deadC
His one and only true discoveryB
And after that he lost his headC
And lost his chances of recoveryB
He lost his honour bit by bitD
Until the thing was out of questionE
He worried so at losing itD
He lost his sleep and his digestionE
He lost his temper and for goodF
The remnants of his reputationE
His taste in wine his choice of foodG
And then in rapid culminationE
His certitudes his sense of truthH
His memory his self controlI
The love that graced his early youthH
And lastly his immortal soulI
