That George had been as good as gold | B |
She promised in the afternoon | C |
To buy him an Immense Balloon | C |
And so she did but when it came | D |
It got into the candle flame | D |
And being of a dangerous sort | E |
Exploded with a loud report | E |
The lights went out The windows broke | F |
The room was filled with reeking smoke | F |
And in the darkness shrieks and yells | G |
Were mingled with electric bells | G |
And falling masonry and groans | H |
And crunching as of broken bones | H |
And dreadful shrieks when worst of all | I |
The house itself began to fall | I |
It tottered shuddering to and fro | J |
Then crashed into the street below | J |
Which happened to be Savile Row | J |

The Footmen both of them the Groom | L |

Will now be permanently deaf | N |
And both his aides are much the same | D |
While George who was in part to blame | D |
Received you will regret to hear | O |
A nasty lump behind the ear | O |
