Who played with a Dangerous Toy and suffered a Catastrophe of considerable DimensionsA
-
When George's Grandmamma was toldB
That George had been as good as goldB
She promised in the afternoonC
To buy him an Immense BalloonC
And so she did but when it cameD
It got into the candle flameD
And being of a dangerous sortE
Exploded with a loud reportE
The lights went out The windows brokeF
The room was filled with reeking smokeF
And in the darkness shrieks and yellsG
Were mingled with electric bellsG
And falling masonry and groansH
And crunching as of broken bonesH
And dreadful shrieks when worst of allI
The house itself began to fallI
It tottered shuddering to and froJ
Then crashed into the street belowJ
Which happened to be Savile RowJ
-
When help arrived among the deadK
Were Cousin Mary Little FredK
The Footmen both of them the GroomL
The man that cleaned the Billiard RoomL
The Chaplain and the Still Room MaidM
And I am dreadfully afraidM
That Monsieur Champignon the ChefN
Will now be permanently deafN
And both his aides are much the sameD
While George who was in part to blameD
Received you will regret to hearO
A nasty lump behind the earO
-
